Community Transition
Community Transitional Support…

Domestic violence affects families, as well as our entire community and way of life. We all have the right to live violence free lives. The cycle of violence needs to be broken to guarantee positive life style changes for all women and children - it can happen.

Women who have experienced domestic violence are assisted to identify and access the supports they need to establish violence free lives. Two workers assist women who reside in our housing or other accomodations in the community. A third worker provides assistance to other residents in their transition to successful independent living.

A Message from our Community Transitional Support Worker…

Women from all walks of life try to cope with domestic violence. They have the same wants and needs for themselves and their children as all of us do. The reality of broken dreams and broken families wears them down.

For many, their own history of childhood abuse is so deeply entrenched in their belief system they don’t see a way out. Fear of poverty for their children and fear for their lives often force them to stay. The subtle manipulation of their every day existence is mind-boggling.

As a community, we are all morally obligated to actively provide support to abused women and their children. As a Transition Worker I am also duty-bound, to make available transition plans that result in violence free lives and the hope of a safe and healthy future. I work with women on a daily basis, and I am always moved by their courage, strength and endurance. A good support system, a shoulder to cry on, someone to turn to, is something we can all give.

Let’s all work together to break the cycle of violence and help make a difference in their lives.

To those of you involved in supporting the mission that Bethlehem Projects provides, God Bless You!
